Patrick Burgoyne is chief operating officer of CMA CGM America. Mr. Burgoyne began his 30-year career in transportation with Sea-Land Service and held port operations roles of increasing responsibility in both the Netherlands and United States during his tenure with the company. Maersk acquired Sea-Land in 2000, and Mr. Burgoyne continued his progression, holding various senior terminal management positions in all facets including business processes, cost improvement, human resources, labor relations and customer service. In 2008, Mr. Burgoyne left Maersk to spearhead the successful turnaround of Yusen Terminals as their COO. In 2010, he assumed the role of president and CEO. Mr. Burgoyne also led the consolidation of NYK Group’s North American terminal portfolio, comprised of Ceres (2013–2020) and YTI (2008–2019), into a new holding company—NYK Ports. During the process, he was appointed president and CEO of NYK Ports. He spearheaded transformation and growth initiatives, restructuring and consolidation efforts, and orchestrated multiple sales and acquisitions for the NYK Group as well as several ownership transitions. In July 2020, Mr. Burgoyne joined CMA CGM America as COO responsible for all operations activities in North America. Mr. Burgoyne is based in Norfolk, Virginia.

Bill Mongelluzzo is a 30-year veteran of covering the shipping industry. He provides leading journalistic coverage of trans-Pacific trade, intermodal rail and ports. He also frequently speaks at industry events and develops conference programs. JOC Group Inc., a premier provider of US seaborne trade intelligence through data, online content and events was acquired by IHS Markit in 2014 and JOC is now part of IHS Markit. Mr. Mongelluzzo holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri - Columbia, US, and a master's degree in History from the University of New Orleans, US.
